How to use Unix elm to browse my FAQ files
-------------------------------------------
You can read both Timo's Frequently Asked Questions collections
(tsfaqn*.zip and tsfaqp*.zip) also using Unix elm program. The elm
version I have last used for testing this method was [ELM 2.4 PL21].
To utilize this possibility, act for example as follows on your
Unix host. First get the unzip program for Unix. (At Garbo see the
/unix/arcers directory for the Unix versions or the archiver
programs). Then extract the text files from e.g. tsfaqn45.zip (or
whatever later version you may have) using
unzip -a tsfaqn45.zip
to get proper Unix eolns (end of lines). Next apply, for example
elm -f faqnews.txt
to read this particular file with elm. The same applies,
respectively, if you have the Turbo Pascal Frequently Asked
Questions ftp://garbo.uwasa.fi/pc/link/tsfaqp.zip.
The Frequently Asked Questions files can still also be read as
ordinary ascii text files, or by Jeroen Schipper's excellent
ReadMail (see readmail.inf) on a PC.
